Wow... so behind as usual... going to try and go thru some pics and upload them here so that I can keep memories of my babies alive!!!!!
This is Dylan's butt ... hahaha.... We had a bbq at our friends Kristen and Kyle's farm... Dylan was fascinated by the tiny little serama chickens they have! So he climbed right into the chicken tractor with them!
Marlee getting ready to eat at the bbq! woot woot!!!!
Our friend Kristen with the yummy food for the bbq!!!!
Our friend Kyle taking Dylan and Keith for a ride on the ranger around the farm!!
Girls turn on the ranger!!!!
We really enjoyed our time at the farm... it is relaxing and the kids love to play and explore. They have a big pond and Dylan and Keith and Kyle found a big turtle!

Time for School!
We started a little refresher course to get us ready for homeschooling this year. We meet at the table for about an hour and do the "beginning time" stuff, like prayer, scriptures, family rules, etc. the fun stuff, and then we have been reviewing our numbers and letters and beginning cursive. We will be starting full time when the public school kids start. We are just so excited. We had a family meeting talking about the things we want to learn along with the things we need to learn. Everyone had great ideas. Another reason I love homeschooling! We get to do what we want! Along with doing the things we are required to learn of course!
So here's to another awesome school year!

A Conversation Between Barbie and G.I. Joe

This is what I overheard today as my babies were playing....
Marlee ( In Barbies voice)--" Oh GI Joe, thank you so much for the gift of these beautiful high heels!"
Dylan ( In his own voice) -- "GI joes dont buy high heels Marlee!!!!!!!"
Marlee ( In Barbies Voice)-- "Oh bumblebee ( transformer) Thank you so much for the gift of these beautiful high heels"
Dylan ( In his own voice)-- MARLEE!!!! eyes roll at this point.
How fun it is to have both a boy and girls. I am constantly amazed at the difference
in each of my children, and never thought I would have a boy, lol, but I must say I quite like having both!!! They are both super fun!!! ;) especially with days like this!

Reading

I am so proud of my kids. I just have to post this!!! Dylan has read all of the Fudge books by Judy Blume ( I LOVED these books when i was his age, lol) and my Marlee girl, who is autistic and learning disabled, has all the sudden caught on to reading!! She is now reading, with help, Little House in Brookfield, the book about laura ingalls wilders mom caroline. I am soooo proud i could just bust! I love reading so much, it is something i have always wanted to instill into my children. I have read to them since they were born, they see me reading, and they are now all reading ( sort of with Sydney, she is really getting good at certain words and sounding things out, but hasnt read her first book yet ;)
I just love the feeling of laying on my bed with Dylan on one side reading to himself, with syd laying on my belly practically and marlee on the other side reading out loud to me and syd. What a beautiful thing!!!!!
Reading is the best!!!!!!
Yay for my kids!! ;)

Making Buckeyes!!!!

I grew up in ohio, this was what we had for our treat every friday at lunchtime at school, this is what we girls made when we went to each others houses to play! I made Buckeyes with my kids for the first time today!!! What a great experience, sharing a little of my childhood while also helping them to learn by measuring, etc. School is awesome! LOL. Here is the pic of the babies in their aprons, ready to go! The greatest thing about buckeyes is that they are MESSY!!!!!! |

On the subject of TEETH

so... Marlee says that her tooth hurts, we take a peek and WOW it is ready to come out! So Dylan, her amazing big brother reaches in her mouth and POOF- out it comes!
The first pic is Dylan working on the last tooth Marlee lost a couple of months ago. Then the other pic is the trio after today! Notice Sydneys gorgeous makeup, lol.
