Evening Time

http://radio.lds.org/eng/programs/scripture-stories-episode-1

With a busy school day and a busy play day, I have been wanting to find ways to make our evening times a bit quieter, calm, etc. I dont want to just sit around and watch tv. So I found a really neat website, and they have this scripture stories webcast... so tonight after a quiet dinner at the table, the kids gathered on my bed to listen to the first episode. They snuggled on the bed, with just my bedside lamp on and we listened. it was so cute! and it really made the spirit in the home nice and cozy. We are getting a winter storm, so it was nice to be cozy and warm listening to this darling webcast. I am thinking, I have found a solution to the quiet calm evenings. Then the kids can go right into their beds for their personal reading time.... we read scriptures throughout the day, plus adding the scripture stories, then they read a book of their choice in bed for half an hour, then prayers then bed. its nice. i think im happy. ;)

Makeup, Fall leaves, and Boot Camp

Yesterday was an interesting day! We did a full day of school, then our neighbor brought the girls a neat makeup kit! They were sooo excited! As you can see by the pictures! We also made neat fall leaf sun catchers for school. It took a long time for them to each find the exact three perfect leaves!! For FHE we had Helamans Boot Camp! We did activities that taught them to obey their parents, exactly, and with strength and respect! It was hilarious! We were laughing sooo hard! So yesterday was a day of makeup, fall leaves and boot camp!
Today has been just as fun. I am exhausted from trying to do everything with pneumonia and a broken rib, so Ive been lounging around trying to save up my energy and heal. The kids have been very busy! They are so good at entertaining themselves! They did some taebo, which CRACKED me up!!!! They had light sabers they were using as weight bars and they were counting out loud with billy blanks and then of course when they were done I had to feel their muscles, lol. ;) Right now the girls are making crowns out of construction paper and dylan has all of his transformers getting ready to battle! We had a nice lunch and im going to rest some more. Its rainy, and gloomy out, but my home is full of busyness, the best kind of all .

A full weekend

We had a very full weekend. Im trying to remember everything we did! Its still early though! lol. Let's see. Saturday we took the kids to Grandma Ulrys and dylan and keith helped fix a bathroom sink and then the kids stayed and played while Keith and I ran some errands ( yup, that was a date to us.) After we got the kids we headed home and basically were kind of lazy the rest of the day! Sunday morning Dylan woke up very very sick, so we started on breathing treatments, sinus rinses, etc to get him breathing again. Yuck. I headed to Barry after we got Dylan all fixed up and comfy, to visit my grandpa and my parents. They are now living in Barry with my grandparents because grandpa cant really move well. So I visited with them, walked down the street to see my cousins LeeAnn and Noah, then headed back home. We straightened up the house then sat down as a family to have scriptures and watch Legacy. We love the movie because Keith is in it!!!! It always makes us appreciate what we have. We are so thankful for our legacy. We went to Keiths parents house and got a tub of horses, the breyer kind and set them up in Sydneys room, Went to my parents house and got two boxes of books, one chapter books, and one regular kid books, and then we set them up in the kids rooms, so it was fun to look through the books. Today so far I have done the dishes, made a lasagna, mowed the back yard, straightened the house and started laundry. Im pooped!

Its Friday

We have had a crazy couple of weeks, and Im just thankful it is friday. I have been hard at work on our website www.ldsforeverfamilies.com and am pleased to announce the new store opening www.ldsforeverfamilies.webs.com ! Check it out! More products will be added daily!
Today it is supposed to be beautiful outside, and we are excited to be able to play outside. I will also be making the kids nature journals, for the Charlotte mason method, which I get more excited about as I read and learn about it.
That is all for now. Nothing to exciting today!

Spring--- where are you?????

As you can see I have taken a little blogging break. i actually took a full blown Spring break last week. Was so pooped out from everything! But today is monday and im back!!! We had the wierdest weekend, spring, rain, then snow then some ice, then a big thaw, with sunshine and today it is sunny and muddy. Im exhausted from this weather! I had started planting some things, and so far they are just fine, the ground didnt get cold enough to freeze, thank goodness.
Today so far I have done school with the kids, including an amazing lesson on easter and the resurrection. You see, my grandpa is dying of cancer, and my children have lots of questions. My poor kids have lost two very important people in the past year ( well it will be one year exactly in april.) and so we have had this talk quite a bit. But in preparing them gently, for grandpa's impending death, I was very surprised at how well this lesson taught about the resurrection. It was a perfect tie in to the questions they were asking this morning about grandpa Jim. Such a hard lesson for my kids to have to learn at such an early age, with the loss of Moses and Francy, and the upcoming loss of my grandfather, who is truly a patriarch to our family and an amazing example. I was very thankful to God for providing this particular lesson in our books at this particular time. He is a good God, and loving and wants my kids to understand.
We decided to head outside after that to feed the birds. They have been hungry birds! We have to feed them almost daily, but it is so worth it to see the different kinds of birds that choose to bless us with their presence!!!! My grandma gave me some aloe vera plant starts last night, mine finally died last year, lol, after much use ( keith has a tendency to be clumsy and burn himself easily, etc!) so we got the starts planted which was great fun for the kids because it involved mud and worms! lol. I need to continue to work on yard sale stuff. I have a big tub in my room that needs prices marked and one in the hallway. Then in the storage unit we have two more tubs and in the storage room we have about three boxes. Freakin huge yard sale!!! Funny thing is, im thinking of listing the clothes on ebay and then just selling everything else at the sale. Get more money from ebay on clothes. I need to make as much money as possible while getting rid of as much stuff as possible!!!! We're going to be purchasing Dylans 4th grade school books soon. Hard to believe, he is only 7 and is ready to start 4th grade. He just adores school and grasps things so easily, we only do about an hour of work in the morning each day year round, and it works well for us. Ok, more work to do. Lots of laundry, dishes and the norm. Plus the yard sale stuff, plus I have these hundreds of children to care for!!! :)

Weekend Woot Woot!

So, its friday evening, officially the weekend!!!! This weekend we are working on spring cleaning, and then sunday is church of course. Marlee has decided to stay home from church sunday to spend time with daddy ( my husband is less active.) It is a hard decision for me, but I know she needs to have time alone with Keith. It is hard making that special time for each kid. Hopefully this will not be an every sunday thing. We need to make more of an effort to get to church all together as a family. It is hard for us with Dylan being sick all the time, and also knowing that he can get sick from going to church, but I have to have faith.
Please keep my grandpa in your prayers. He is dying of cancer. I hate writing that sentence but it is true, and I just pray that he has comfort and peace. He believes in Christ, which is a great relief, but is not LDS. Just keep him in your prayers.
Dylan is doing pretty well today, he has only had allergy issues, and so far so good with everything else. He has good days and bad days. Today was a good day, he even played outside on the trampoline!!!! Awesome! What a blessing!

I HEART bathtime

I LOVE when my kids are fresh out of the bathtub, smelling like sweet little babies ( even though they are getting so big!) I love to snuggle them and brush their hair and put lotion all over them. Ahhh, one of the joys of motherhood!!!!

Here are pics of my babies fresh out of the tub. So sweet!

wierd days, excellent answers

For the past week, I have been feeling really blah. We have had such a busy month last month, with sooo much sickness, and now that im feeling better physically, my brain just kind of seems to be mush. so tired, so blah. Anyway, I have been feeling a bit down, and really just need to be in the sunshine. Thankfully it is supposed to be really nice out today, so im going to take the kids out to play this afternoon, which will help, but also, i read the neatest devotion today, it just seemed perfect for me today.
http://www.internetcafedevotions.com/2009/03/smooth-sailing.html

anyway, it was really good.
that is all for now. like i said, so blah! lol.

Dinosaurs

Dylan chose some books about dinosaurs at the library this past week. We have been entranced by them!! Now we want to know EVERYTHING about dinosaurs. So we have been looking up online some neat dinosaur unit studies, we are planning another trip to the library and we have been watching these neat documentaries on youtube. We just watched this one about how the dinosaurs became extinct. It fascinates me to watch Dylans brain soak in all the details of the rocks, the biology, the different layers of sediment, what the meteorites caused, etc all these different miniscule details, he just soaks up and tries it all out in his brain, then comes up with his own theories. He is such a cool kid! I am loving watching him learn, and also loving learn too!
The girls are watching sesame street right now, oh i love that show. I grew up on the street ! LOL.
Feeling better today, just very tired still. Trying to continue to take it easy. I did the dishes, put some laundry in, and Ive been reading to the kids and helping them with their studies, etc. It is only 9 am. A very long day to go. I hope I will make it!!!! Keith just called to tell me that he hurt himself at work again, this is becoming an every day thing, and that they may have to work all night to finish this project for the hospital. Apparently they are only giving them from 3 pm until 5 am to finish this huuuuge amount of work. So we will see what happens there, whether we will even see him tonight. I am proud of him for his job, he enjoys it, and it is important to him, and I feel bad that he stayed home with me on tuesday, so I wont complain if he works overnight! but i hope he will feel good about it, and not get sick or something. We'll see how it goes. He's a good guy!
I have been trying to exercise, but with being so sick, I have slacked off. I did lose some weight while sick, but come on, that doesnt count, lol!!!! Today Im going to try and just do some minor walking and stretching, to try and get my body to feel better. I am going to continue to rest alot today also, hoping that my body will get back to where it needs to be, so I can take the world by storm!!!!!!!

Wonderful Weekend, Full of Blessings

I am so thankful for this past weekend. As we have struggled so much with sickness, we finally were blessed with a good weekend. Not only did the kids feel good, but we finally sold our little bulldog, that we have been trying to sell for about a month now, and it couldnt have happened at a better time with student loans being due! It was bittersweet because Memphis was such a sweetie, but I am very relieved and can now spend more time with my family and home and working on my writing, etc. It is sunday evening and the kids are taking their turns in the bubble bath ( a sunday night tradition at our house, full of bubbles, barbies and transformers, lol) and Im already in my comfy jammies ready to relax and snuggle.
Tomorrow will be a great day, full of promise and the hope for a great week. I will be working hard on my spring cleaning, I started it very early this year, so that I can take my time and do a good job! I am already excited about my monster yard sale that I will be having in March!!! Hey maybe I will make enough for another student loan payment, lol. Darn that college edumacation that my hubby has! Just kidding of course, I am totally thankful for it. He is blessed with a full time job in the trade that he chose which is a big blessing right now in this unstable economy. Good weekend to all!!!!!

Cold and Windy with a chance of snow......

Its freezing here!!! It is freezing in many places in our country and Im in constant prayer for those who dont have the warm heat that we have in our home. I am so blessed that not only does my husband have a job ( yeah it doesnt pay great, but it is a full time job) but that he is an HVAC man, lol, meaning he can fix our furnace if something should happen. We live in comfort. Some people may look at our home and laugh and think it is not amazing, not a mansion by any means, etc but our home is happy and comfortable. That is what counts.
The kids are playing nicely this morning. Dylan is battling something on his gameboy, and the girls are turning Syd's room into a baby nursery. Very cute!! I have held many baby dolls this morning as they have had their " baths" and had their new clothes put on, and a ride in the stroller, etc.
They wind is so strong outside, Im just so thankful that my babies are warm and playing nicely, that we are blessed to have toys and food and such. I will be making 4 or 5 meals today to put into the freezer, another blessing. So far today I have worked on the dishes while doing a challenge from myfitnesspal.com a group of awesome friends who work together to be healthy, anyway, you do lunges and squats while you do dishes, talk on phone, etc. whew. im burning already and it is only 8:30 am!!! Today my main homemaking goal is laundry and baking the meals from the 5 lb hamburger roll. The kids will sit with me later and do school. We are working hard and they are doing great. They are pretty ahead for their age, but they are happy and enjoy it and i only have them do about an hour of work a day, then the rest is super fun!
Im going to go check to make sure we have nothing blown away, and once again thank my Heavenly Father for all He gives me and pray for those who dont have warmth or shelter.
